Process Consultant Dangerous Goods

As a Process Consultant specialized in dangerous goods (with a focus on lithium batteries), you will be part of our BizOps team, focused on driving change, innovation and optimization across our supply chain.

You will be responsible for implementing best practices, initiatives and optimizing processes related to the legal, health and safety, handling, storing and transportation of dangerous goods (lithium , ensuring adherence to regulations while improving efficiency

You will be reporting directly to the Head of BizOps.

What will be your responsibilities

• Compliance and Legal Oversight: Ensure all processes related to handling, storing, and transporting dangerous goods, particularly lithium batteries, comply with legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., ADR, IATA, IMDG);
• Process Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to optimize workflows for dangerous goods management, improving safety, efficiency, and compliance while minimizing risks;
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with all relevant teams to integrate best practices for dangerous goods into everyday operations, ensuring smooth project execution;
• Process Mapping: Document and analyze existing workflows related to dangerous goods handling and storage, identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement;
• Training and Awareness: Provide training and guidance to team members on the proper handling, storage, and transport of dangerous goods, fostering a culture of safety and compliance;
• Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders and external regulators, ensuring clear communication and alignment on compliance requirements;
• Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives by reviewing and refining processes for dangerous goods management, including health & safety practices and supply chain operations;
• Risk Mitigation: Analyze potential risks associated with dangerous goods and implement measures to minimize hazards in storage, transport, and handling;
• Data Analysis: Leverage data and metrics to monitor compliance performance, identify trends, and implement actionable improvements;
• Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including regulatory submissions, safety protocols, and operational guidelines.

What are the requirements to join us in this position

• Fluent in English and Portuguese (both written and spoken);
• More than 3 years of experience in dangerous goods, lithium batteries being a plus;
• Proven experience in process improvement and operational excellence;
• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization, namely in change management procedures;
• Results-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering tangible business outcomes and driving continuous improvement;
• Ability to work collaboratively in teams with team members with different backgrounds and expertise;
• Strong organisational, leadership, and problem-solving skills with a strong sense of practicality and efficiency;
• Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accuracy;
• Proactive in taking action and getting stuff done;
• Tech Savvy with an interest in continuously looking into new tools and solutions to improve the business;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that is continuously changing;
• Ability to travel.
